On the face of it the London property market seems straightforward. There are literally hundreds of estate agents, dozens of magazines filled with houses and flats, and many websites devoted to covering this market. Information is everywhere.

Quality for instance. Nobody tells you that the pretty house at a bargain price is on with twenty agents (on the same website). There is no mention of the tube rumble or the view over the restaurant’s extractor fan. Or that it was sold a month ago. What happens to the good items at reasonable prices?
